Frank Carl Bird, formerly of Weyburn passed away suddenly on April 6, 2012 at his home in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife Louise of Nanaimo, BC, son Randy of Springhill, NS, daughter Wendy Nelson of Springhill, NS, and daughter Tara (James) Lighthart of Nanaimo, BC. Two sisters, Arleen and Judy and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his father Carl in 1994 and his mother Peggy in 1995. Born in Renwere, MB. He lived in many locations and wore many different hats - a jack of all trades, you could say. From machinist to videographer. He resided in Goodwater from 1979-1986. There he owned and operated Goodwater Machine Shop. The family then moved to Weyburn in 1986 where he owned and operated Bird Video Service and Family Video. In 1991 the family moved to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island and in 2005 they moved to Nanaimo, BC. He loved animals and the great outdoors. In his spare time, you would find him manufacturing, inventing and just staying busy. However, he always had time to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Weyburn. Condolences can be left at www.sandsnanaimo.ca.
