With a sense of immense gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Gordon Herbert Fleming on March 22, 2012 at the age of 91 years. He has traveled to another realm in time for mind, body and soul to find peace and tranquility. He was raised on the family farm at Brooking. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1942-1946 and was stationed in various locations in Canada and overseas. He served in military workshops as a "Royal Canadian Electrical/Mechanical Engineer" (R.C.E.M.E.) with the rank of Craftsman (Cfn). On his discharge Gordon bought land at Brooking adjacent to his parents to be able to assist them. He also raised cattle. He was married to Blanche Leona Start, January 26, 1956 at Radville. They raised a family of seven in the Radville area, where he worked on the railroad and construction. In the fall of 1973 they moved to Weyburn where Gordon worked at Wire and Cable and Fisk Repair. After retirement he assisted on local farms and fixed small motors in his garage. His example of being a good neighbour, demonstrating excellent work ethics, lending a helping hand to anyone who had a need, was a positive influence for family and friends. Gordon was predeceased by his father and mother, Herbert and Helen Fleming; brother, William Fleming; sister, Muriel Potts; father and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Irma Start. Gordon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Blanche Leona Fleming; seven children: Valerie (Mervin) Ness, Weyburn, Laura (Wilfred) Olson, Regina, Duane (Dianne) Fleming, White City, Kenneth (Bunnie) Fleming, Weyburn, Kevin (Natosha) Fleming, Griffin, Lorne Fleming, Weyburn; Starla (Jason) Wareham, Rouleau; ten grandchildren: Dayna (Cody) Peterson, Jeremy, Kristopher and Nicholas Olson, Melissa (Tim) Bolton, Jacob and Anthony Fleming, Ember, Zander and Zane Wareham.
