Helen Eva Frycz (Schenher) of Weyburn passed away peacefully on Friday March 16, 2012 at Regina General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband John, her parents Michael and Margaret Schenher, father and mother-in-Law Daniel and Elizabeth Frycz, step-mother Theresa, step-sister Martha Schoenborn, sisters Caroline Schenher and Irene McLellan, brother Michael Schenher, sister-in-law Vivian Schenher, brothers-in-law Earl Johnson, Jack Seis and Ray Robert. Survived by her children Darrell (Linda), Northfield, Ohio, his sons Tanner (friend Nikki), Brendan; Donald (Lisa) Surrey, B.C. and children Anthony (friend Jen), Melissa, Tylynn; Dwayne (Christine) Fort McMurray, Alberta, his son Brent, and great granddaughter Bethany; Darren (Aileen) Aldergrove, B.C. son David; Danita (Jeff) Royal Edmonton, Alberta and family Samantha, Avalon, Teegan, Nathan; brothers and sisters, Fran (Joe) Ortman, Catherine Seis, Margaret Johnson, Agnes Cornea, Ernie Schenher (friend Ileen), and Ed (Rose) Schenher, sister-in-law, Rosemary Schenher, brother-in-law John McLellan, brother-in-law William (Mary) Frycz, sister-in-law Clara Frycz plus numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Helen was born March 1, 1933 in Ogema. She took her schooling at Mount Joy School until Grade 9; she then finished her high school at Horizon. After completing her schooling she taught for 1 yr at Glasnevin. then at Surprise Valley school in Viceroy. She then returned to the family farm to help raise her younger siblings for several years. Then it was off to take a business course in Regina, at Reliance Business College after which she worked at Sask Power for a short time. She met her husband John Frycz and after a brief courtship married on May 5, 1962 and moved to the family farm at Candiac. Helen enjoyed raising her five children while looking after the home. She still was able to find time to be very active in the community, serving on Candiac Altar Society, curling rink and school boards, just to name a few. Later on she became Teacher-Aid Librarian at Montmartre school. In 1996 she and John retired to Weyburn, where she continued to be involved in the community working at Wheatland Senior Center as treasurer till her death. Helen enjoyed various activities such as curling, bowling, fishing, fast ball and playing various card games. Prayers were held on Thursday March 22 at 7:00 pm from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn. Funeral mass for Helen was held on Friday, March 23 at 10:30 am from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Fr. Gerry Bauche, celebrant.
