Jean Christina Eaton (McCormick)

After a life well lived, Jean Eaton passed away peacefully in Penticton, BC on December 19, 2011 at the age of 91. Born on the McCormick farm near Weyburn, Jean and her seven brothers and sisters were raised in a loving family where the principles of goodwill and kindness to one's friends and neighbours were generously mixed with abundant laughter and music. Jean met the young air force pilot Lloyd (Tim) Eaton and in 1944 they were married and moved to British Columbia where they resided in both Penticton and the Vancouver area. Throughout her life Jean was known for her compassionate and optimistic view of life, and despite some times of sorrow and loss, her glass was always half-full. In recent years she delighted in having her children and some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren nearby and would follow their lives with great interest. Jean was predeceased by Tim, special friends Fred and Werner, and by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children: Lynne (Gary) Napper and Doug (Irene) Eaton, grandchildren: Scott (Dana) Napper, Stephen (Jennifer) Napper, Nahanni Eaton-Day, Greg Eaton and great grandchildren: Connar, Jacob, Haley, Peyton, Amelia and Chloe. She will also be lovingly remembered by brothers Murray (Elma) and Calvin (Margaret), sister Elaine and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Centre for helping to make her last few months as comfortable as possible. No service by request, but if so desired, donations may be made to a local charity of your choice. More importantly, for those of us who knew her, think of her and smile. Jean would like that. For the past 30 years Jean spoke of the day she would be reunited with Tim. That day has come. We love and miss you both. Condolences may be directed to the family at providencefuneralhomes.com
