Karen June Jordan

Karen June Jordan passed away peacefully Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 75 years. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Eldred and Lenora Leslie; husband, Norman “Nob” Jordan (May 29, 2017); son, Bill Jordan; brother, Norman Leslie and brothers-in-law, Bill Franklin, Earl Toovey, Art Gerwing and Ralph McGillicky. Karen was born on July 17, 1942 at Bromhead, SK. She was raised and received her education as well in Bromhead. Karen married Norman “Nob” Jordan on January 21, 1961 and they raised a family of four children in Goodwater. They lived here for 56 years. She was a wife, mother and a waitress. Karen enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing, throwing darts, golfing, baking and curling. She was active in her community and sat on the golf club board, rink board, town council and ladies auxiliary. Over the years Karen enjoyed travelling east to the Maritimes west to British Columbia on the train with Keith and Mel. They also enjoyed multiple fishing trips up north. Karen also talked about a trip she took to Mesa with her good friend, Patsy, she had really enjoyed it. Karen was dedicated to visiting Nob at Tatagwa when he moved there in 2015 until he passed away. Karen will be lovingly remembered by her son, Keith (Melany) Jordan of Estevan, SK; daughter, Donna Jordan-Labbie (Craig Labbie) of Radville, SK; daughter, Bev (Richard) Pirio of Radville; daughter-in-law, Terri Jordan of Weyburn, SK; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jody) Bashforth, Chelsey Jordan (Drew Pratt), Nicole Labbie (Devin Herman), Ian Labbie, Sera Labbie, Brett Pirio (Jess Van De Sype), Casey Pirio (Sara Henderson); great grandchildren, Vance and Liam Bashforth; sisters, Shirley (Clem) Weinrauch, Joyce Toovey, Sharen McGillicky and Margaret (Barry) Martin; brothers, Arnold (June) Leslie and Roger (Erica) Leslie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Service of Remembrance was held for Karen Friday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Interment followed at Goodwater Cemetery.
