Kenneth Waddell passed away peacefully at The Gardens Care Facility in Qualicum Beach, BC. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Banford) of 62 years, his sister Mary Mortin, Regina, son Bruce (Kim), Yorkton, and daughter Brenna Loudoun (Lloyd Coates), Calgary, AB, one grandson Jason Waddell, Medicine Hat, AB and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother, Harold, Regina, and grandson Jarred Loudoun, Victoria, BC. Ken was born in Rouleau, and was a graduate from the College of Pharmacy of the University of Saskatchewan and purchased Stibbard's Drugstore in 1951, Weyburn. He then operated Waddell's Drugstore in Weyburn for many years along with his partner, Ed Kitchen. When he sold the business he took the position of pharmacist at the Weyburn Union Hospital for a number of years. During his years in Weyburn he was very active in community affairs and organizations including the Weyburn Kinsmen Club, curling club, and was a lifetime member of the Elks. He enjoyed curling, tennis, golf and snowmobiling at Kenosee Lake. Ken and Eileen moved to Parksville, BC when he retired in 1989. He was a volunteer Senior Citizen Counselor in the Parksville area for several years.
