Lois Adeline McDonald (nee Clarke), late of Rimbey, AB, and formerly of Weyburn, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Rimbey Hospital with family by her side. She was 75 years of age. Lois was born on April 16, 1936 at Froude; a daughter of Perry and Adeline (nee Milford) Clarke. Lois was raised on the farm and attended school at Froude. She became a teacher, married and raised her children on the family farm in Tyvan, later moving to Francis, and eventually calling Weyburn "home". She spent recent years in Rimbey, Alberta with her beloved partner, Arnold Bergesen. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Addie and Perry Clarke; brothers-in-law, Jim Mahaffey, Bud Burns and Ross Wightman; and her sister, Thelma Burns. Lois will be remembered always by her daughter, Faith (Todd Sprecken) McDonald of Griffin, and her son, Aaron (Darlene) McDonald of Last Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Tanner (Jen), Brittany and Derek (Jennie) McDonald and great granddaughter, Gemma. She will be greatly missed by her brother, Melvin (Rose) Clarke of Griffin, her sister, Lorraine Mahaffey of Weyburn; Arnold Bergesen of Rimbey, AB and his children, Stanley, Brenda, Arnita, Chrissy and families; her sister-in-law, Elaine Wightman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 16 at 2:00 PM from Weyburn Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jody Pfeifer officiating. Donations may be made in memory of Lois to the Alzheimer Society.
