Lorraine Marion Herberholz passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Grace Sample; great granddaughter, Aiery McManus and brother in law, Lawrence Sauer. Lorraine was born at Mair, Saskatchewan on April 17, 1939, the third child of four to Ernest and Grace Sample. She lived on the farm and was raised by hard working parents. Lorraine married Richard Herberholz on March 24, 1957 at Moosemin, Saskatchewan and they had seven children. Lorraine was a fulltime mother for many years but later would upgrade her education and become a clerk typist. She went on to work in the Health Care industry for 29 years and retired 18 years ago. Richard and Lorraine bought their first home in Weyburn in 1972 and lived in it for 45 years. Lorraine enjoyed baking and sewing for her family. In her spare time she loved to read, go bowling and curling, play computer games and watch a good movie. Lorraine’s number one pass time was gardening and growing flowers and she was a member of the Weyburn Horticulture Society. As well Lorraine was an active member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Lorraine loved to travel and took several casino trips with “the girls.” Richard and Lorraine also travelled together and took a bus trip to Branson, Missouri for 10 days in the 1990’s. The family recently celebrated their 60th anniversary and Lorraine’s 78th birthday. Lorraine’s family thanks all of the relatives, long-time friends and neighbours for all of their kindness and support during Lorraine’s illness and passing. They also wish to express their thanks to Weyburn Palliative and Home care for the excellent services. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Richard Herberholz of Weyburn, SK; children: Valerie (Rodney) Finney of Mainprize Park, SK; Dawn (Lyle) Radom of Regina, SK; Tim (Cindy) Herberholz of Weyburn, SK; Diane (George) Tosczak of Weyburn, SK; Grant Herberholz of Weyburn, SK; Randy Herberholz (Debbie Graham) of Regina, SK; and Michael Herberholz of Weyburn, SK; grandchildren: Marna (Kelt) McManus, Johnathon Finney, Corey (Holly) Radom, Kimberley Radom (Lee Monfette), Evan (Krista) Radom; Danielle (Garret) Moe, Mitchell (Jennifer) Herberholz, Matthew Farney (Melanie Bowick), Katie (Spencer) Lindskoog, Sarah Farney, Stephen (Courtney) Farney, Allie Tosczak & Errol Graham; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Reginald (Sheila) Sample; sisters, Phyllis Sauer and Joyce (Pete) McIndo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Royal Canadian Legion Branch #47 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Minister John Smith officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan at a later date.
