Margaret May Cugnet, late of Weyburn, and formerly of Halbrite, passed away February 13, 2012 at the age of 92 years. Margaret was born to Gerald and Rosalie Sherrow on March 10, 1919. She was raised at Halbrite and attended school there. On September 27, 1937 Margaret married Albert Cugnet in Crosby, North Dakota. They lived on a farm in the Halbrite area the majority of their lives. Margaret was content helping on the farm, and being a housewife. She liked to paint, knit and sew as well as to decorate wedding cakes. Margaret also enjoyed curling and golfing. She was involved with her church, and the Catholic Women's League of Canada with the St. Francis Regis Council of Halbrite. In 2005 Margaret bought a condo in Weyburn where she lived until moving into Weyburn Special Care Home on April 16, 2010. Margaret was a very caring person. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spent a lot of time baking and doing things for them. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Rosalie Sherrow; husband, Albert; son, Gerald; sister, Ruth (Raymond) Cugnet and brother-in-law, Robert Dorsch. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Jackie Thon and Michelle Cugnet and her son, Albert JR Cugnet; grandchildren, Chris Thon, Bill (Janet) Thon and Patricia (Steve) Wells; great grandchildren, Morgan, Mathew, Ryan, Conner and Rowan; four sisters and two brothers, Edith Dorsch, Dorothy Stalberg, Don (Isabelle) Sherrow, Phyllis (Ernie) Sonnenberg, Lyle (Marlene) Sherrow and Gae (Harvey) Gall as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation was held Thursday, February 16, 2012. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 17, at 10:30 a.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapels, Weyburn, with Father Gerry Bauche celebrating. Pallbearers were Patti Wells, Bill Thon, Chris Thon, Wayne Sonnenberg, Glen Sonnenberg, and Kim Sonnenberg. Interment was held at Halbrite Cemetery.
