Mrs. Megan Marie Fonstad (Roysum), passed away at the Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the age of 28, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Megan Marie Fonstad (Roysum), passed away at the Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the age of 28, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 14, 1983 to Garnet and Elaine Roysum and was the youngest of three children and the only girl. Megan went to Elementary School in Lake Alma and later moved to Gladmar School, where she graduated in 2001. Megan went on to the University of Regina to become a teacher, a vocation she was truly meant for. She was wonderful with all students and teachers. In 2003 she met James, the love of her life, and moved to Oxbow where she got a teaching job. In 2005, James and Megan were married. In 2007 they were blessed with Olivia Joy, and later in 2009 another daughter Kaybree Hope. In 2011, their son Gabriel Liam Von came into the world shortly after Megan was diagnosed with cancer and now rests in the arms of Jesus with his mother. Megan fought valiantly and lived her last earthly days to the fullest. She remained an optimistic fighter all the while enduring difficult treatments. She appreciated her friends and family to the very fullest and cherished bedtime stories, snuggles from her little ones, and coffee dates with friends. She was predeceased by her grandpas Leo Hoffart and Omer Roysum; James' grandparents Pearl and Adolph Grismrud, and Martin Fonstad, and her precious baby boy Gabriel. Megan is survived by her loving husband, James Fonstad and two beautiful girls, Olivia Joy and Kaybree Hope; her parents, Garnet and Elaine Roysum; two brothers Cory (Cherie) Roysum (and their children Cheyanne, Jens & Ty) and Shane (Lindsay) Roysum (and their children Mya and Kason); James' parents Ron and Gail Fonstad; sister-in-law Michelle Fonstad (Jamie Sutherland); brothers-in-law: Blaine Fonstad and Scott Fonstad; grandmothers Ida Hoffart, Lorraine Roysum, and Joyce Fonstad; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The funeral mass was held on Wednesday, March 28 at 2:00 pm from the Oxbow Prairie Horizons School, Oxbow with Reverend Father Jose Thomas, Mass Celebrant. Interment took place at the Overland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Regina General Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 2180-23rd Avenue Regina, SK. S4A 0A5.
