Norman “Nob” Jordan passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ada Jordan; son, Bill Jordan; brothers, Paul Jordan in infancy, Ab Jordan and Wray (Tess) Jordan; sisters, Thelma (Phillip) Ror, Dot (Hjalmer) Erickson, Maisey (Franky) Erick and Marlene Sherrow and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Ror, Harold Mathias and Roy Newans. Norman was born in Midale on April 9, 1933 and grew up in Goodwater, a very family oriented person. Norman worked as a farmhand, on the railway, as a plumber’s helper as well as at Central DelRio for 29 years, now known as Encana. He also was a land owner and farmed in his spare time. Norman married Karen Leslie in Bromhead on January 21, 1961 and raised four children in Goodwater. No matter where he went, Goodwater was always home. Norman enjoyed curling, baseball, fishing, golfing and gardening. Norman was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Elks Club. He looked after the golf course, maintained the curling rink and the water and heating in the community hall. Norman was friends with everyone and was liked and appreciated by everyone. Over the 56 years of married life, Norman and Karen travelled together by train to the Maritimes and the west coast, as well as making many fishing trips to LaRonge. Norman will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Karen Jordan of Goodwater; son, Keith (Melany) Jordan of Estevan; daughter, Donna Jordan-Labbie (Craig Labbie) of Radville; daughter, Bev (Richard) Pirio of Radville; daughter-in-law, Terri Jordan of Weyburn; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jody) Bashforth, Chelsey Jordan (Drew Pratt), Nicole Labbie (Devin Herman), Ian Labbie, Sera Labbie, Brett Pirio (Jess Van De Sype), Casey Pirio (Sara Henderson); great grandchildren, Vance and Liam Bashforth; sister, Elsie Newans; sister-in-law, Ruth Jordan; brother-in-law, Bud Sherrow, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Memorial Service was held Friday, June 2, at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Interment followed at Goodwater Cemetery.
