Ralph Earl Bassman

Ralph died peacefully at home in Saskatoon on March 25, 2012. He was born to Stefan and Agnes Bassman on January 7, 1942 at home in Khedive. Ralph attended primary school in Khedive. and as a teen he stayed home to work on the family farm.

Ralph died peacefully at home in Saskatoon on March 25, 2012. He was born to Stefan and Agnes Bassman on January 7, 1942 at home in Khedive. Ralph attended primary school in Khedive. and as a teen he stayed home to work on the family farm. After a brief career in construction, he then became a truck driver and after many years as a truck driver he became a mechanic with Mack Truck/Redhead Equipment until he retired. As a teen and young adult he enjoyed playing fastball. He told many tales of enjoying life to the fullest, content that he had done everything he wanted to in life. An avid sports fan and had season tickets for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for over 50 years. Ralph enjoyed watching the Blue Jays, curling on his big screen TV, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and getting into trouble was definitely one of his favorite things. THE WORLD'S GREATEST UNCLE. In July 2010 Ralph moved to Saskatoon becoming a special part of Roberta, Rod, Megan, Riley, Jasmine and Charlie Edworthy's family. He will be missed dearly. He leaves behind four siblings: sister, Frances Renneberg, Rocky Mountain House, AB; brother, William (Bev) Bassman, Langley, BC; sister, Margaret (Mervin) Millsap, Plunkett; sister, Kathy (Omer) Pitre Saskatoon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, he loved each one in a special way. Ralph was pre-deceased by his parents, Stefan Bassman 1958, Agnes (Colbow) Bassman 1994; and his brother, Steve Bassman, 1993. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association (104-2301 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan (279-3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8) would be appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2 at the Legion Hall, Yellow Grass. Inurnment to follow at the Yellow Grass Cemetery.
