These day, the modern farmer in Saskatchewan is turning more and more to the latest high-tech gadgets to help increase production and lower costs. Technology now extends well beyond the smart phone and computer in a tractor cab.

All the top dogs were out in Mankota on September 15-17 for the 2017 Western Canadian sheepdog finals. The three-day event featured some of the top sheepdog handlers in North America for the 12th annual Hilltop field trials.

The Assiniboia and District Chamber of Commerce held its Lunch and Learn on September 13 where the community had an opportunity to meet Assiniboia’s new RCMP Sergeant Donnie Duplissea. He has a unique perspective having seen much of Canada.

The ladies wound up their Wednesday night golf in Assiniboia on September 20. It was a great year for ladies golf in Assiniboia.

Along with celebrating 150 years of Canadian Confederation this year, farm producers are also marking 150 years of the agriculture industry in Canada. Saskatchewan has been the breadbasket of the world for over a century.

The Mossbank and District Museum and the Mossbank Library co-hosted an unique Live History event on September 16. The museum was approached by the library about hosting the event together as a fundraiser and it turned out to be very successful.
