Firefighting training was held for the members of the South Central Protective Services Association at the Assiniboia Fire Hall on February 10 and 11.

The Assiniboia Senior Rebels and the Mossbank Blades hockey teams are headed to the championship final. Both teams finished in the top two spots during the regular season in the Notekeu League.

The drama club at the Assiniboia Composite High School delighted the audience with their performance of Alice, a one-act play, on February 15 at the ACHS gymnasium.

Nolan Berner, goaltender for the Southern Junior B Rebels, was presented with the South Division All Star Goaltender award from Mark Legare, the Prairie Junior Hockey League statistican/media relations.

Assiniboia and district have been enjoying unseasonably warm weather in February with highs above zero and reaching above 10 Celsius.

A total of 11,178 head of cattle were sold in Saskatchewan the week of February 10, down from 12,900 head sold the previous week, and down from 15,855 head sold the same week a year ago, reported Saskatchewan Agriculture.
