It is mind boggling to think that we can live our day to day lives oblivious to the awe-inspiring gifts of God's creation that lie near us, often in plain sight. Perhaps it takes the eye of an artist or a mystic to startle us into awareness.

The Dickens Village Festival Committee has been out decorating with the help of local high school youth. With the event coming soon the committee is excited to be bringing new excitement to the festivities held during the first weekend in December.

When the Saskatchewan Roughriders won the West Division Championship title of the Canadian Football League, they didn't touch the trophy. Instead they said that we have one more week and one more game, the Grey Cup is what we want.

A Grey Cup rushing record was set by Kory Sheets, the top Canadian was named to be Chris Getzlaf, and the Riders won the 101st Grey Cup. So, I feel a little bit like a bad Saskatchewanian at the moment.

If this is a dream, don't wake me up. The Saskatchewan Roughriders captured the 101st Grey Cup championship with a 45-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sunday at Mosaic Stadium. Just like the week before, the score flattered their opponents.

This past September saw local youth attend leadership conferences; one was a provincial conference and the other a national conference.

Several days ago I went home for a quick lunch and to accompany my hotdog and apple juice meal I turned on the TV and "boom" one of my favourite programs was on.

Something occurred this year in Saskatchewan which most people will know nothing about and yet in terms of food production it holds some definite significance. In April, 16 Saskatchewan vegetable producers formed the Prairie Fresh Food Corporation.

It was a short meeting of the Carlyle Town Council on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Every year, despite the hectic time of year, Santa Claus ensures he stops by Carlyle to take photos with all of the excited boys and girls in the area.
