The figure on the road who waits for us

A weary traveller approaches a farm yard with hesitant steps. Dusk is approaching, but it is still bright enough to see a youthful, though drawn face, covered with dust. Suddenly a cloaked figure seems to appear from the farmyard.

It was almost nine summers ago when Bowan Karl Rekken passed away. His friends were so moved by his passing that they approached his parents about building a motocross track in his memory in Carlyle. It was a sport Rekken enjoyed when he was alive.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP received 44 calls for service over the week of Sept. 13 to 19. Abandoned Vehicle An abandoned vehicle was reported in a parking lot along Hwy 13. The vehicle had been parked for over a week and was removed.

Arcola Craft Show continues to grow

The Arcola Craft Show, which has been active for 10 years, saw 54 vendors this year. Quite a leap from last year's 31 vendors. Held the same weekend as Homespun, organizers and vendors of the Arcola Craft Show believe it is a symbiotic relationship.
