The Southeast Regional Show was held on June 9th at Alameda Auction Mart.

Languages, there are so many of them around the world. Even within a single language there are a great many variations. It's not even simply the accents of the people that are different, but the different word uses they have can be misleading.

June 21 saw the nationally celebrated Aboriginal Day take place. It is a day meant to celebrate the First Nation, Metis, and Inuit peoples as well as their contributions to the world.

The Rev. John Bullas, Minister at Carlyle United Church, 202 2nd street west, preached his last sermon of his 10 year pastorate in Carlyle at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 24th. Bullas is retiring after years as a United Church pastor.

Awards Afternoon was held last week. Congratulations to all of the students who were acknowledged for their excellence in academics, clubs, and sports.

A Natural Health and Healing Expo will be held on July 7 and 8 at Memorial Hall in Carlyle. The event begins early at 10 a.m each day, and goes till supper time.

Moose Mountain Soccer has recently completed a very successful spring soccer season! This year we offered a seven week soccer program to youth ages 3 - 8 years of age and had 83 kids participate!! Of the 82 children, 34 were registered in the Under 4

The renovations continue. This winter we asked first-year Roughrider head coach Corey Chamblin if his football team - if compared to a recently-purchased house - was simply a fixer-upper or if it needed massive renovations.

After a solid season in the Estevan Minor Baseball League, the Carlyle Bantam boy's team met Oxbow in a hard fought league final on Thursday, June 21. Many were in attendance for the final league game.

This year's MAK Attack was held on June 20, a dreary day that was livened by the competition. Since its inception in 1993 the MAK Attack has been an annual competition between Manor, Arcola, and Kisbey.
