It's been quite a drought for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but with a couple of former all-stars from the west suiting up in the black and yellow uniforms of Steeltown, the Grey Cup could make a return to Hamilton in 2012.

This past weekend, Carlyle was lucky enough to welcome some very talented musicians to town. With Boogiefest being a hot and happening event, concerts and dances saw a great deal of attention.

There are some things about which it is best to be ignorant. Take bittersweet chocolate, for example. Of all my culinary sins, overindulgence in chocolate is not one of them but a friend recently introduced me to some mighty powerful temptation.

The sun was shining, and the weather stayed clear for one of the most exciting weekends of summer in Carlyle. Engines revving could be heard for miles at the 11th annual Carlyle Boogie Fest, June 22 and 23.

The biggest problem in politics is how quickly those we elect forget where they came from and whom they were elected to represent. But maybe one of the problems is that we don't give enough credit to those that do remember.

Moose Mountain Meats Co-operative Ltd. held its grand opening on Wednesday, June 20; though they have been selling retail meats since Jan.

Kennedy native Blake Berglund performed June 14 in Arcola to help raise funds for the MacMurray Theatre. Joined by his friend, business partner, and fellow musician J.R. Louis a fantastic show was put on.

Vincent Gabriel Kirouac, 22, of Quebec City is travelling across the country with his nine-year-old mare Coeur de Lion. Dressed as a knight he hopes to promote chivalry, manners, and goodness to fellow people.
