Father's day has come and gone, but the love for the men who raised you has not. The thing that makes father's day so special is that it is a time to acknowledge how grateful you are for their hard work.

As I stare at the computer thinking about what to write about my father for Father's Day, a sea of memories comes crashing back to me. I never realized the amount of things my dad has done for me until this moment.

Bear Claw Casino hosted their annual Buck-A-Rama June 13 and 14. Great entertainment was enjoyed by many. Though rain threatened both days the show went on. Riders from across Canada and a few Australian cowboys attended the rodeo.

Last year a fire claimed the Arcola Fair and Stampede Board's barn. Rebounding from the loss the Fair Board has decided to erect a multipurpose building in its place.

The other day, as I went out for groceries, I wore a shirt with a portrait on it.

Before summer is in full swing, the History Book Committee met to plan their next steps. We have presold 220 books on our way to publication.

In 1996 Canada's governor general proclaimed June 21 as National Aboriginal Day.

July 1 will mark Canada's 145th birthday. To mark this great day, which celebrates our diverse cultures and great love of our nation there will be multiple events held around the area.

Boogie Fest is nearly here! The 11th annual event is set to take place on June 22 and 23, which will see a flood of motorbikes come to Carlyle. The event has grown from 37 bikes the first year to 137 that came out last year.

As summer quickly approaches, more and more people flock to the lake. The sun is shining around Carlyle, and has brought us several enjoyable days outside.
