Monday, March 21st, was to be the start of a new season in Carlyle. The spring equinox, which occurred late Sunday evening, ensured the beginning of warmer weather.

Manor School held Jump Rope for Heart Friday, March 18. A total of 45 students raised $3,816.65 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To the surprise of almost no one, and to the desire of even fewer, we are headed to a federal election May 2.

The weekly RCMP report is prepared with the assistance of the Carlyle RCMP. Issues involving the Mental Health Act, among others, are not reported. The report this week covers the period of March 19 - March 25. The detachment assisted with 45 calls.

The Southeast Kodiaks team consists of players from many communities in the Souteast corner. The team was formed by coaches Chad Levesque, Darryl Davis and Curtis Douglas.

In just two weeks, Cornerstone Theatre Inc. will take the stage for the production of "Exit the Body," a play set in New England in 1961.

Last week I submitted the argument that Spring really wasn't far away. This I did in spite of knowing that blowing snow, cold and generally "sick of winter" blues affected most of my reading audience.

Story:With construction starting for the Western Star Inn, Carlyle will experience an increase in available accommodations in the future. Building and development permits have been approved for a 64-unit structure.

There was this important job to be done and everybody was asked to doit. Everybody was sure that somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was everybody's job.
