On July 31, families at more than 165 Ronald Mc/Donald Houses and Rooms throughout Canada and the United States, were provided with a meal prepared and served by consultants from the direct selling company ThirtyOne Gifts.

Over the August Long Weekend Wawota celebrated their Heritage Days in the valley. Heritage Days actually began in the 1950s and then there were a number of years when it didn't happen.

It's about showing up

An event that has quickly grown into a popular attraction in the southeast region will soon be returning to Carlyle. Carlyle Fun Dayz will take place in the downtown area on Aug. 17. It will start with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.

For all of the more than five decades we’ve been married, Ed and I have enjoyed playing board games. Out of respect for trade marks and their legal implications, I won’t name any but one of our favourites involves lining up numbers in sequence.
