A common thought amongst many people is that building future leaders of tomorrow starts today. Though this idea is often applied to older youth, the education one receives very early in their life is essential.

The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 64 calls of service from Friday, May 16 to Thursday, May 29. 911A 911 call was received from a rural location but it was found to be a static line.An individual in Redvers dialled 911 by accident.

Air Cadets is a program which develops character in youth as it promotes loyalty, professionalism, mutual respect, and integrity.

In the 1990s the local library in Carlyle saw an expansion and the "old library" became a space used for programs of varying sorts. This part was recently renovated to help reinvigorate the library and bring it into the 21st century.

In January of 1996 Ron Matz, a close friend of Gary Dixon passed away due to complications from multiple sclerosis (MS). It was a sad moment for Dixon but to keep the memory of his friend alive Dixon started an MS Walk in the town of Wawota.
