ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service is investigating calls about a suspicious male at a spray park and has issued a reminder to the public.
According to the Aug. 18 news release, the EPS received two separate reports about the male, who appeared to be video recording youths in the park. The complaint was received after the male had walked away. Patrol members were unable to immediately locate the individual to address the complaints.
A potential suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing. The EPS is advising the public that timely and detailed reporting of suspicious behaviour provides police the best opportunity to investigate and identify those involved.
Parents are encouraged to accompany young children who attend splash parks, outdoor pools and greenspaces in Estevan, and to report any concerning activities as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, police attended a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence in the Pleasantdale area. EPS members mediated the situation and one of the parties agreed to leave the scene for the night. Additional resources were recommended to assist those involved.
A well-being check was conducted on a male after family members were unable to contact him by phone. The individual was found to be safe and well.
A traffic stop conducted by patrol members resulted in a motorist being arrested for impaired driving after he displayed signs of impairment. He failed a roadside screening device breath test and was transported to the police station, where he provided two breath samples, each with a result of 0.13. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving, his driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.
