Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) responded to a number of calls Thursday. Officers attended to a residence in the Willow Park Greens area and located a 44-year-old woman with warrants for her arrest.

A definite advantage of this pandemic situation is the number of ways in which we are learning more and more about unity. I know there are riots and protests but I’m talking about our town and, in particular, our local neighbourhood.

Dennis Moore dashed through the splash park at the Dennis Moore Centennial Park Thursday during the noon hour. Moore, who is a member of city council, has also been part of the Rotary Club of Estevan for many years.

Sask. COVID-19 update: one additional death, 42 new cases, 13 more recoveries There are 42 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 23, the Ministry of Health said Thursday, bringing the total to 1,072 cases.

The City of Estevan has announced that parts of a couple of streets will be closed Thursday. The 600-block of Fifth Street is closed with no through traffic due to a sewer replacement.

A heat warning has been issued for the Estevan area for the first time this summer. Environment Canada issued the warning at 4:03 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures reaching 32 C, combined with overnight lows near 16 C, are expected for the next two days.

Just like crop fields around the southeast, hayfields and pastures are pretty spotty this year. While some areas received a decent amount of precipitation earlier in the season, other regions hardly had enough to stay alive.

Due to COVID-19, the 4-H year ended a lot differently for the Carievale 4-H Beef Club Record books were judged by Laine Goertz Kaeding of Regina. In cloverbuds, Vanessa Cowan was first, Mardi Cowan was second and Arabella Buchanan came in third.
