Environment Canada has lifted the tornado warning that was in effect for the Estevan area. The warning was issued at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for the Rural Municipalities of Estevan, Benson and Cambria. It was lifted at 6:02 p.m.

A portion of King Street between Cundall Drive and Hudson Road is closed for traffic and pedestrians.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance with an incident that occurred Monday. A female had some type of a liquid thrown on her from a passing vehicle while she was walking her dog in central Estevan.

Austin Dobrescu’s return to the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course was a triumphant one. Dobrescu, a former Estevan resident who moved to Brandon, Man.

There are 17 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, the Ministry of Health said Monday, bringing the total to 1,359 cases. Six of the new cases are located in the south region.

The Estevan Motor Speedway treated its fans to another doubleheader on the weekend, with approximately 75 vehicles entered between the six classes each night.

Members of the Estevan Police Service handled a number of calls to start the long weekend. Police were called to a north Estevan parking lot Friday, where an adult was seen smoking in a car with a child inside.

Bernadette Wright has won the women’s event at the Frametech Classic at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course. Wright shot an 84 on Sunday to finish the two-round event with a 166 total, 10 strokes better than Paige Wheeler.

Jaxson Ward was among the young people who were at the Padwick Park splash pad on Sunday afternoon. The park was a popular destination for young people looking to beat the heat on a hot day in Estevan.
