Cyrus Ackrill, 19, was in Estevan provincial court on Oct. 20, where a date was set for when his charges will be spoken to. He will be back in court on March 31, 2015.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) continued to be busy manning and monitoring Saskatchewan’s port of entries along the border with the United States.

Estevan Police Service members were engaged in investigating three incidents of impairment, involving three different substances or materials on Oct. 15. One matter involved alcohol, another was marijuana and the third was a cell phone.

Since the opening of the new water reservoir in the north part of the city a year ago, the most noticeable positive from the new infrastructure has been the increased water pressure in the northern half of the city.

Residents of even-numbered divisions within rural municipalities may head to the polls Oct. 22 as general municipal elections across the province are being held. Polls will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at RM offices around the southeast.
