SaskPower has provided an update on the widespread power outages to strike the southeast and east-central portions of the province.

A couple of parents backed by a cadre of about four dozen online supporters made an impassioned plea to the South East Cornerstone Public School Division’s board members to eliminate the current mask mandate.

There are 18 new cases of COVID-19 to report in the South East region on May 21, including 10 new cases in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan. Zone 4 now has 104 active cases.

SaskPower has been dealing with a widespread outage in eastern Saskatchewan. According to tweets issued Friday morning, freezing rain has caused a large volume of outages affecting customers in the east and southeast parts of the province.

Luis Benuel wrote: “Age is something that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese.” Now that’s encouraging. If you’re neither brie or an edam, age doesn’t matter that much. Having said that, numbers do.

There will be a COVID-19 walk-in vaccination clinic in Kenosee Lake on Friday afternoon and evening. The clinic at Kenosee will be at the recreation hall from 2-8 p.m. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered.

Members of the Estevan Police Service had made a few arrests in the past couple of days.
