The Estevan Curling Club (ECC) board of directors has decided to end the 2020-21 curling season for all leagues, but the U18 curling program will continue.

Every organization is having difficulty making plans right now and that includes our Bible camp at Kenosee Lake. So, when our board sat down at their computers to talk about our vision for the future, I braced myself for a long and tense meeting.

There are 244 new cases of COVID-19 and 282 recoveries to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 28, bringing the provincial total to date to 23,038 cases. Eleven Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced the temporary disruption to emergency and acute care services at the Arcola Health Centre and emergency services at Radville Marian Health Centre have been extended until further notice.

The Estevan Police Service has had several calls to start the week. Police attended a traffic collision in the 100-block of Fourth Street on Jan. 25. One vehicle required towing from the scene.

A recent project for Hillcrest School’s Grade 2 class taught students about some of the artwork that exists in the community and the talented people who created these projects.
