French immersion and core French students and staff from Sacred Heart School/École Sacré Coeur celebrated French Second Language Week from Feb. 1-5.

The Estevan RCMP is investigating a recent break and enter and theft in the RM of Browning.

The Estevan Police Service made an arrest for drug possession on Thursday. A traffic stop occurred in central Estevan, which resulted in a 32-year-old Estevan man being arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

Lacie-Paige Carleton had a great time when she entered the Inked Magazine Cover Girl contest last year, so she decided to enter it again. Carleton advanced to the wildcard round of last year’s competition.

The City of Estevan has announced that Perkins Street is fully open once again. The arterial road was closed from First Street A to Fourth Avenue on Wednesday afternoon due to a major water main break. It remained closed until mid-afternoon Friday.

An extreme cold warning has been issued for southeast Saskatchewan. Environment Canada issued the advisory at 3:29 p.m.

There are 269 new cases of COVID-19 and 229 recoveries to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 5, bringing the provincial total to date to 24,946 cases. Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.
