It’s been more than 70 years since Jim Spenst returned to Canada following his service in the Second World War, but he still has enduring memories from his time in the service. Spenst was a private in the Canadian Army in the war.

Submitted On Oct. 17 the FCC (Farm Credit Canada) gals set out to collect food from 2 of our local schools to help out the Carlyle food bank. The first school we went to was the Redvers School. They collected 319 lbs.

The Carlyle Hooters Rec. hockey team has honored one of their own by having the Hooters’ logo and “In loving memory” of teammate Wayne Dunn, affectionately known as “Papa”, painted on the side of the zamboni at the sports arena.
