Round and square dances have been a part of Estevan for more than 60 years, and according to Bob and Marian Lees, the benefits of the types of dance are the same as they’ve always been.

Katie Fornwald can’t believe how quickly the new Lampman Family Centre has come together. The centre is operated by the Healthy Rural Family Project, which was formed back in February.

The Femsport Women’s Strength and Fitness Competition in Moose Jaw on Aug. 18 had a distinct Estevan flavour. Out of the 82 women who entered the competition, approximately 40 of them were from Estevan.

Dave Harron is being recognized by the Hospitals of Regina Foundation (HRF) for his efforts to raise money for the organization.

The Estevan based r/c club Sun City Prop Busters celebrated their 30-year anniversary on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12. President of the club Art Dougherty said the high temperatures caused issues for the celebrations, but they still went on nonetheless.

The second main stage show at the Souris Valley Theatre this summer will bring some local flavour to the tourist attraction. Pirate Heart is an original musical comedy written by Lampman’s Maureen Ulrich, a well-known local playwright and author.

Gord Stevenson remembers when he and his wife Della decided they needed to transform the appearance of their yard. It was 20 years ago, and the lawn for their front yard had seen better days.
