In the Community

Some family trees have beautiful leaves. Ours has a few nuts . But there is nothing I would change. Some of my favourite family tree humour includes I think my ancestors had several “bad heir” days.

The past year saw some significant stories in the Estevan area that shaped not only the community today, but its future direction as well. These are our choices as the top five stories of the year.

The Prairie Women on Snowmobiles (PWOS) organization has been raising money for breast cancer research and equipment, through its mission snowmobiles rides, since its formation in 2002.

It’s not surprising that I’ve been humming “ Away in a Manger ” these days (after all, it is the Christmas season) but actually I’ve found myself thinking more about wood. Neither humorous nor particularly profound, here are my musings.
