In the Community

Earlier this summer, Mossbank farmers banded together to plant a seed of an idea to better their community. This fall they harvested and sold their crop which is part of the Farm it Forward: Advancing our Community project.

This summer we’ve had the joy of hosting more family visits in one season than we’ve had over the past several years.

In a recent article I began by quoting one of my most frequent prayers these days: “O Lord, please send rain.” Thankfully we’ve had a bit, not a lot but enough to cool the temperatures and slightly decrease the risk of fires in our area.

The St. Louis Catholic Church in Mossbank celebrated its 100th anniversary on Sunday, August 27 with a Mass and celebration. The Mass was held at the cemetery among the shade of the trees on this hot day.

Twelve members of the Estevan Alliance Church had a life-changing experience late last month, thanks to a short-term mission trip to Guatemala.

It was in late 2013 that Estevan’s Terry Walliser received the news that nobody wants to hear: he had cancer. In his case, the cancer was in his nose, and so doctor’s would have to surgically remove that part of his body.
