This week’s topic is inspired by things that happened today, a highly unusual event. I always try to choose my topic mid-week, thus allowing plenty of time to mull it over and mentally outline my article.

Fantastic beings could be found at the Assiniboia Civic Centre on March 17 for the Assiniboia Figure Skating club’s Carnival. The theme “Fantastic Beings and where to find them” was an inspiration from Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter.

I found it, the perfect fit and an end to a more than a year-long search! “It”, an elusive Tupperware™ lid, sat at our local thrift shop, possibly destined for recycling.

For musicians and artists in the southeast corner of the province, the Carnduff and District Music and Arts Festival has become an important showcase of their abilities every year. This year’s festival will run from March 12 to 17.
