Purple Day presentations took place in Assiniboia at the Assiniboia Bakery and the 7th Avenue School on March 24. Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide.

Minnie Pearl’s husband supposedly said she looked like a breath of spring. Minnie replied, “He probably meant I look like the end of a long, cold winter.” Lent is a time for a refreshing look at our lives.

Fantastic beings could be found at the Assiniboia Civic Centre on March 17 for the Assiniboia Figure Skating club’s Carnival. The theme “Fantastic Beings and where to find them” was an inspiration from Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter.
