It was a matter of confidence surfacing at the right moment.

Kelly Panteluk Construction Ltd.'s (KPCL) support for a new children's hospital in Saskatchewan has gone to a new level.

Dr. Mark Wahba, the son of the late Dr. Yosri Wahba and Susan Wahba, was the co-recipient of the Dr. Dennis A. Kendel Distinguished Service Award which was announced in the latter part of 2015.

Although I rarely think about it, as I walked the track this morning I pondered the magic that happens when common ingredients are mixed in specific ways. It's a phenomenon that takes place in our house every day and probably, in yours as well.

Her parents kissed little Bella goodbye and shut off her life support. Moments later she made a miraculous and full recovery. The next day two year old Bella celebrated Christmas Day at home with her family.

While the local Christmas Kettle and food bank drive for the local Salvation Army program topped the targets, so too did their national campaign, according to information released by the Army from their Toronto headquarters.

A year in review

The Salvation Army in Estevan received record-setting support for its annual campaigns in December.

Picture this family: the woman is suspected of adultery; the man plans a quiet divorce; their son gets into trouble with the authorities and is unjustly executed by the state. And this was the family of Jesus .

In a somewhat ironic start to a new year, I've been doing a lot of looking back. Between exhortations from sources as diverse as the radio and our church pulpit, the message is clear: "Here's wishing you all the best in 2016".
