The New Year will see the Weyburn Soo Line Historical Museum temporarily closing its doors until March 2. Although the museum will be closed during the winter months, group tours of six or more can be booked by calling the museum at 306-842-2922.

The Weyburn Music Festival is fast approaching and with that, so is the entry deadline. The entries, which will be accepted online only, are due by January 16. No late entries will be accepted.

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club had its annual Christmas social with a dinner followed by bridge on December 22, the final game of 2014.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn will hold their annual general meeting on January 20 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the BBBS office, which is located downstairs at the Metro Center, 64 Third Street.

Just days after Christmas, I took my final ferry trip of the year. After several days on a most pleasant business trip, I was heading home.
