Weyburn is celebrating Culture Week in Saskatchewan with a celebration of the arts on September 23. The Culture Days Celebration will be held in Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

School is back in session and students are excited to prepare for the 2010 YouthBiz E-Show.

Hollywood film star and grandson of the late Tommy Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland, will represent the Douglas family for the unveiling of a new bronze statue of the former premier on Friday, Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Riverfront Boardwalk.

The Weyburn Independent Riders will have a busy weekend, with the annual Toy Run on Saturday, Sept. 11 and the annual Ronald McDonald Challenge on Sunday, Sept. 12.The Toy Run parade will leave from the parking lot of the Weyburn Junior High at 1 p.

A couple of weeks ago, I talked about the visit by "Scotty", the T. rex from Eastend, Sask., which is on display currently at the Soo Line Historical Museum, and mentioned the fascination that kids seem to naturally have for dinosaurs.

September is Big Brother Big Sister Month here in Weyburn and in celebration of this Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn (BBBSW) would like to show its sincere appreciation to each and every one of its volunteers.
