Canada Day fun in Kisbey coming

It’s the day we all celebrate being Canadian on, July 1, and in Kisbey the volunteer Fire Department, Kisbey Rec Centre, Rebekahs, and the Elks will be holding their 4 th Annual Kisbey Canada Day BBQ. The fun starts at 10:30 a.m.

Canada Day celebrations will be held in Kisbey this year on July 1 between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Last year these two had a blast taking part in the three-legged races held.

                It’s the day we all celebrate being Canadian on, July 1, and in Kisbey the volunteer Fire Department, Kisbey Rec Centre, Rebekahs, and the Elks will be holding their 4th Annual Kisbey Canada Day BBQ.

                The fun starts at 10:30 a.m. and runs throughout the day ending at 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Kisbey Rec Centre where the organizers welcome everyone to join in celebrating Canada’s 148th birthday.

                Available throughout the day are bouncy castles, face painting, cotton candy and popcorn, , tug-of-war, music, the fire equipment race, BBQ lunch (hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and desserts), a canteen is open, and the fire trucks will be on display. Other fun games for kids include the three-legged race, potato sack race, balloon toss, and egg race.

                Carnival style games with prizes are a new edition to the fun day according to Kisbey Fire Chief Rob Cobb.

                “This year, we are introducing Carnival style games like duck pond and ring toss for people to try their luck to win prizes,” Cobb explained.

                Raffles will also be held throughout the day including a queen sized Canada day quilt which was made by one of the volunteer firefighters’ wives.
