The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce will have an retail expo and sale, to be held at the Weyburn Curling Rink over the weekend of September 20 to 22.

Booking are beginning immediately. All businesses from southeastern Saskatchewan are welcome to apply for a booth.

The idea is to turn the curling rink into a massive mall with fun, shopping and food which will attract people from all over the region.

"We know that Weyburn's retail community is behind this concept and we're ready to show off what we have. This is not a show, this is a sale," said Jeff Chessall, Chamber president. "Our retailers will be there and we expect everyone to find great deals and great times."

Chessal said this expo will not be anything like the Farm, Home and Leisure Show and explained the potential for attracting new customers by participating in an event like this.

Chamber members get the first chance to register and are also being offered a reduced rate.

If member register by Sunday, June 30, their booths will cost $250.

Non-chamber members or those who register for a booth after June 30 will pay $450 for a booth.

The chamber is limiting the number of booths to 50. To book a booth, entrepreneurs must be selling something, either a product or a service, and must have their application approved by the Chamber.

"The focus is for our members to have an opportunity," said Jeff Richards, Chamber manager.

"We want quality over quantity."
