Southeast Regional College has hired a new vice-president of business development. Jason J. Johnston will take on the position after leaving the Gabriel Dumont Institute in Saskatoon with extensive experience in administration, education, and community development. He brings with him a diverse background in business initiatives and a breadth of knowledge in the pursuit of partnerships with a variety of stakeholder groups.

Johnston's immediate priority is the preparation for spring break?up as the College actively reaches out to oil and gas companies for training options over the next few months.

"The southeast region is experiencing an economic upturn with many established companies linking oil and gas training with the College and the Saskatchewan Energy Training Institute. It is important for employers and individuals to call early for training seats to be secured in the anticipation of spring break?up. We do have campuses located throughout the region and can provide some localized options for programming," said Johnston.
