COVID-19 cases remain low among southeast Sask. youths

The weekly data from the provincial government, released on Thursday, showed that there was one active case in Zone 4, which includes Estevan, and one in Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.  

The case for Zone 4 was diagnosed before Sept. 21, and was still active as of Sept. 27. The case in Zone 2 was diagnosed the week of Sept. 21-27.

No further details on the cases will be released.

The numbers for Zone 4 show there were 70 tests performed last week, bringing the total to 176 since the start of the school year. Fifteen tests were performed last week among those four years of age and under, 41 among children five to 13, and 14 among those 14-19.

There have been 474 tests for COVID-19 among young people in the southeast region since Sept. 7.  

There were 34 active cases in Saskatchewan last week. A total of 10,187 tests have been administered among Saskatchewan youths since Sept. 7.
