There are eight more cases of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the provincial COVID-19 dashboard.
Forty cases of COVID-19 in Zone 4 are now considered active.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority declared an outbreak on Aug. 6 for a birthday party/lunch event that previously occurred in Estevan, and has been traced to many of the cases in Zone 4. Thirty-three of the 40 active cases have been announced in the past three days.
There is also one new case in South East Zone 3, which includes Weyburn, and one in Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.
The South East region has 73 active cases. Three more people have recovered and two people are in hospital receiving inpatient care. The number of people in hospital is up one from Aug. 6.
There are 139 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Aug. 7. A total of 628 cases are considered active. Another 60 people have recovered, bringing recoveries to 49,267.
There are 60 people in hospital.
There were 1,921 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Aug. 6, including 93 tests in the southeast.
And another 1,921 doses of vaccine have been administered, with 257 in the southeast.
