Editor’s note: This is a weekly feature in Southeast Lifestyles in an effort to recognize front-line Health Care workers at St. Joseph’s Hospital. We thank the St. Joseph’s Hospital for sponsoring this article and the hospital for submitting the write-up, and we applaud all health care workers and other essential services workers for their efforts during this pandemic.
This week’s focus – St. Joseph’s Special Care Home
Our team of Health Care professionals includes Nursing, Special Care Aides, Recreation, Spiritual Care, Maintenance, House Keeping, Admin, Laundry, Physiotherapy and more.
Our team remains focused throughout the COVID-19 situation, providing uninterrupted care. With the inability for residents to receive visitors, or to leave their home at this time, daily activities and communication becomes increasingly important.
The Care Team has creatively found ways to keep the 38 residents in communication with their families through phone calls, Facetime, family visits through their room window, family placing hearts on the outside of windows and taking pictures of the residents holding a message on a whiteboard.
The care provided by this team occurs 365 days/year and is magnified during the times we presently find ourselves in.
Thank you to our Health Care Heroes at the St. Joseph’s Special Care Home.
