The 19th annual Stamping Out Hunger campaign was a great success, as on Sept. 20 the Canada Post employees teamed up with the Salvation Army to replenish the food bank's shelves.
The food bank received a total of 1,120 kilograms, or 2,464 pounds of food in donations that were picked up from around the community.
The food was gathered and weighed by Canada Post employees and their friends and families on the Saturday morning.
In addition, there were about 20 volunteers who were at the food bank to receive the truckloads and van loads of food donations collected by the postal workers.
Helping to supervise the volunteers in how to separate the food items into their relevant categories was Lt. Brian and June Bobolo, and Laura Morrissette, who looks after Weyburn programs for the Salvation Army church.
