Two fire fighters worked on spraying water on the smoldering remains of a farmhouse destroyed by fire on Monday evening in the Khedive-Pangman area northwest of Trossachs. The home was located on the Cyril Tessier farm, and several neighbours and fire crews from Yellow Grass, Pangman and Radville responded to fight the blaze, with many neighbours helping out with water trucks, tractors and shovels to ensure the fire was contained to this location. A car garage near the house was also destroyed in the fire; a fire guard was set up with help from neighbours to protect other buildings and fields from the fire. Yellow Grass was the first department dispatched at 6:15 p.m., and didn't return to the hall until 1 a.m., said deputy fire chief Allen Altwasser. No one was in the house at the time, and no one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and is under investigation. A trust fund for the family has been set up at the Credit Union, and Blue Earth has put out a request for help for the family.
