This will be their last meeting until September. All ladies are invited to join. Membership is free of charge, and the organization helps raise money for items needed at the home.
Residents of the Deep South Personal Care Home were entertained by two different performers on May 13. Vern LaCoste sang and played guitar and Blaine and Donna Morrison from Stoughton also performed music and songs and provided dinner for the residents.
Robin and Charlie Larson and Ocean motored to Weyburn on May 17 to visit with their grandmother and great-grandmother Joan Knox at the Legion Towers and their aunt Kay Kessler at Tatagwa View.
Seven residents played 10 frames of the bean bag toss on May 14. Effie Devine placed first with 59 points, Mart Spooner placed second with 57 points and Ada Murray took third with 56 points. George placed first for the men with 37 points.
Rev Ella Frank came to the care home on May 15, and held a church service. Clara and Lewis White were at the home for a church service in the morning of May 16, and then in the afternoon the Old Kids on the Block from Ogema performed for residents.
Memorial services for Jean Matchett, age 98, was held in Milestone on May 18. Jean and her husband Wilfred lived on a farm near Parry for many years. Jean moved to Wetaskiwin, Alta., where she passed away on Jan. 15.
Jean was predeceased by Wilfred, her daughters Jean in infancy, Joyce Koyowich and Marion Roberts. Interment was held at the Milestone cemetery with Rev. Tom Ellis officiating.
Drayton Larson motored with the Weyburn Comp Choir to Edmonton for a music trip, held from May 15 to 19.
Debbie Kessler returned home from Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the May long weekend.
Valerie Heustis spent May 16 and 17 with her daughter Kelly and Evan Clifton and Kaden and Jayme.
