Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of May 6 to 13: During the reporting period, police received 136 calls for service. Police members were very busy with calls involving firearms, neighborhood disputes and several hit and runs.

*On May 12, police were called to mediate a dispute between neighbors over the trimming of trees.

*Police were called to investigate a possible motor vehicle accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The matter is under investigation.

*On May 11, police were called to the Hartney Avenue area of the city to investigate a report of mischief to a vehicle. The vehicle had its passenger side mirror broken. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate a complaint of an object being thrown at a motor vehicle while it was travelling on #39 Hwy. The matter is under investigation.

*Police arrested a local male after a traffic stop and charged him with possessing a small amount of marijuana. He will be appearing in court this month.

*On May 10, police were called to a report of erratic driving on the south side of the city. The driver was later located and warned.

*Police were called to a report of a vehicle having its rear window smashed out. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to a report of a male trying to enter vehicles at a local hotel parking lot. The matter is under investigation.

*On May 9, police were called to investigate a report of damage at a local school. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to the east side of the city to a report of a male going through a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

*On May 8, the Weyburn Police Service members participated in a two-day long STEP blitz in the city. Over 200 charges were laid.

*Police were called regarding the legitimacy of a door to door salesman and his product. Residents are reminded that sales people have to be licensed and if there is any concern to call police.

*On May 7, police were called to a local bar to a report of a disturbance. Three males had been fighting and were dispersed. One male was charged under the local fighting bylaw.

*Police arrested a local female young person after she fled from a court appearance without permission. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to a local downtown business to a report of a motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries reported.

*On May 6, two males were arrested for forcing their way into a local residence wearing masks and armed with handguns. Both males were remanded in custody and are facing numerous criminal code charges.

*A male attended the Weyburn Police Service to say he had an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. He was arrested and released to appear in court at a later date.

*Police were called to a dispute between neighbors over a messy yard and animals, the matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to a local restaurant to investigate a Hit and Run to a motor vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to assist the Weyburn Fire Department with a possible gas leak. There were no reported injuries.
