Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of February 13 to 19:
During the reporting period, the Weyburn Police Service participated in a Province Wide SGI Blitz. The targets were frosted, tinted and cracked windows. Four tickets and 45 warnings were issued. Approximately 150 vehicles were checked.
*On February 19, while an officer was parked running radar, a vehicle approaching the patrol car was speeding and almost collided with the patrol car. Police stopped the driver, who was arrested and later charged with driving while over .08 and Impaired Driving.
*Police responded to a domestic dispute. One of the occupants of the residence was removed and she was returned to the home a short time after. No charges were laid.
*On February 18, police received a complaint about a noisy party. Officers attended and issued a $250 ticket.
*Police requested EMS assistance when an unconscious female was found at the bar. She was transported to the hospital and released a short time later.
*An unwanted patron was removed from the bar.
*While running radar an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was subsequently charged for Impaired Driving, Driving while Over .08 and Possession of Cannabis. The passenger was also charged for possession of Cannabis.
*On February 17, police responded to a complaint of an assault in the parking lot of a local bar. One person was arrested and lodged in cells. The victim of the assault had a bleeding lip.
*A male was suspended from driving for 24 hours after blowing a warning detector on a roadside screening device during a routine stop.
*On February 16, police responded to a disturbance at a local bar. Two patrons were separated and sent on their way. A second call was received to the bar, which resulted in one female being charged with assault causing bodily harm and the second person being charged for theft.
*Several patrons were having a dispute at the bar, officers separated all parties and one person was taken home.
*On February 15, while on patrol an officer witnessed a person drive by a school bus while the stop arm was extended. The driver was charged for the offence, which carries a fine of $360.
*On February 14, after receiving a call about a patient that had left the Mental Health building, police assisted in returning the patient.
*Police received a complaint regarding threatening phone calls. The caller was spoken to about his actions.
*A male called the police and stated that there was going to be a fight at the bar. Apparently the male had refused to leave the bar, so he was removed by police and taken home.
*On February 13, police assisted Weyburn EMS in dealing with a person that had mixed medication with alcohol. The person was transported to the hospital.
