REGINA — Regina police have arrested one individual for the alleged assault of a 13 year old girl on Monday.
Police say the victim reported being approached by an adult male while playing basketball in an alley with two other children. The suspect allegedly “touched her inappropriately,” she told police, and attempted to pull her towards him.
The victim and other children were able to leave the area, returning home where police were notified.
The incident took place on April 11, with police responding within minutes of the report. The suspect was located shortly after, said police, walking nearby in the area.
One 68 year old male is now facing charges of sexual assault of a minor, sexual interference and failure to comply with a probation order.
The suspect made his first appearance on these charges in provincial court Tuesday afternoon.
