There are 14 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Sept. 30, bringing the total to 1,913 reported cases.
Eight new cases are in the Saskatoon zone. Two each are in the Regina and central east regions, and single cases are in the northeast and central west areas.
Of the 1,913 reported cases, 139, or 7.3 per cent, are considered active.
Thirteen more people have recovered, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 1,750, or about 91.5 per cent of those diagnosed.
There have been 441 cases from the south area (222 southwest, 200 south central, 19 southeast). Three cases from the southeast region are considered active; two active cases are from the zone that includes Estevan.
As for the rest of the province, 393 cases are from the Saskatoon area; 359 cases are from the far north area (350 far northwest, 9 far northeast); 277 cases are from the north area (132 northwest, 77 north central, 68 northeast); 259 cases are from the central area (176 central west, 83 central east); and 184 cases are from the Regina area.
Nine people are in hospital. Eight people are receiving inpatient care; five in Saskatoon, one in Regina and two in the southwest. One person is in intensive care in the north central zone.
Of the 1,913 cases in the province to date, 289 cases are travellers, 941 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 560 have no known exposures and 123 are under investigation by local public health.
Seventy-three cases are healthcare workers; however, the source of the infections may not be related to healthcare in all instances.
A total of 328 cases involve people 19 years of age and under, 627 cases are in the 20-39 age range, 588 are in the 40-59 age range, 306 are in the 60-79 age range and 64 are in the 80-plus range.
Fifty-one per cent of the cases are females and 49 per cent are males.
Twenty-four deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported.
To date, 190,795 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. As of Sept. 28, when other provincial and national numbers are available from Public Health Agency of Canada, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 134,348 people tested per million population. The national rate was 194,072 people tested per million population.
There were 1,280 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
